Expert tips on management communications and the power of storytelling
If you feel that the internet dominates communications these days--and, further, dominates our lives, your hunch is confirmed. A Pew Research Institute study found that internet use by all adults ages 18 and over has increased 75% over the past decade. That percentage is significantly higher if ages 65+ aren't included in the average. In general the study's findings are not particularly surprising, but the use of various social media sites by different age groups is.
Among teens, 93% are online regularly, 75% own a celll phone, and 66% text--but their use of blogs is down 50% from 3 years ago, and only 8% use twitter! Meanwhile, 47% of adults over 30 use social media sites, with growing numbers using twitters and a modest increase in the use of blogs.
